Actor/Musician - Administrative Director
Hailing from Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Jennifer grew up in a musical environment. She is incredibly proficient on the Cello, Alto Saxophone and Piano, as well as a number of other instruments she has picked up on the way including Clarinet and Guitar. By the time she left school to head to University she had a total of four Grade 8's and a Performance Certificate under her belt.
Jennifer discovered her love of acting aged 13 when she was encouraged to audition for the role of 'Cis' in Sir Peter Hall's production of Albert Herring at Glyndebourne Opera House. This role she understudied for the 2002 Summer Season at the the Opera House and also the following National Tour. This experience led her to become incredibly active in drama throughout her secondary education, including taking a show up to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2006.
Having always harbored the ambition of becoming a professional cellist, Jennifer's passion for acting took over and led to three years of training at Rose Bruford College of Performing Arts, graduating in 2011 with BA Hons (1st Class) in American Theatre Arts. Among her theatrical experiences whilst training, Jennifer took on large roles in the world premiere of There’s A City In My Mind by Steven Dykes, The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood and Shakespeare’s All's Well That Ends Well (which was performed in Minnesota, USA). Whilst at Rose Bruford she developed a flair for Musical Directing and also co-arranged and composed original music for various productions. She was also lucky enough to work with renowned theatre company The Shady Dolls, taking on the role of 'Musician' in The Spoils by Steven Dykes and performing at a theatre festival in Spain. Here she tested her classical piano skills by performing a newly composed Piano Sonata written by award winning composer Paul Englishby.
Since graduating Jennifer has returned to Rose Bruford to tutor Acting Through Song to American Theatre Arts 1st and 3rd year students and regularly musically directs and accompanies there. She has most recently musically directed productions of Company, Hair and Fiddler on the Roof.
For Blind Tiger, in addition to fulfilling the role of Administrative Director, Jennifer has played Helen Scott in 'A Life In Monochrome' and the title role in Blind Tiger's 'Cinderella', which played in the heart of the West End over Christmas 2012. She is set to play several different characters, including the world famous opera star Jenny Lind, for Blind Tiger's upcoming production of The Little Mermaid.
When Jennifer is not working on projects with Blind Tiger, she can be found teaching drama and music to mini maestros in Tunbridge Wells, as well as singing regularly with The Oriana Singers and St Paul's Rusthall Choir and performing with her string quartet, The Oriana Quartet.
